3:21 PM Manifest File for a Website, Installing a Shortcut as an Application on the Screen
Webmanifest extension for a file that is loaded into the root of a site. I recently wrote about a site icon and did not attach any importance to the fact that on the resources where I installed something similar, an inscription appeared, install an application with an icon of the loaded site. Of course, for the sake of interest, I immediately installed it on my Android phone, it only works in the mobile version. It is clear that adding a bookmark on a computer is much easier. What needs to be done to ensure that the icon that appears has a normal name, in the standard it is MyWebSite. First, before loading, you need to rename the site.webmanifest file to site.webmanifest.txt, then open it in a text editor, find all MyWebSite, change it to your own and save. Before loading, remove the txt extension. Moreover, the MyWebSite inscription is in the code that needs to be added to all site headers, before adding, similarly change it. In fact, the function is still experimental, but quite convenient. I also want to note that it remembers the user and does not pop up constantly. It is enough to swipe the window aside once, and it does not offer anymore. There are already instructions on the Internet on how to create a progressive web application, PWA, yourself.
